National Mercantile Co-operative Bank Limited, Kaiserbagh, Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) was established on 6 May 1979 as a society under the provisions of Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Societies Act, 1965. Lucknow is a major city of North India and also the capital of the state of Uttar Pradesh. In its center is the Rumi Darwaza, the Mughal gateway. Nearby, the 18th-century Bara Imambara temple has a large vaulted hall. Upstairs, the maze is a compound of narrow tunnels with views of the city from its upper balcony. Nearby, the grand Victorian Hussainabad Clock Tower was built in 1881 as a victory pillar. Lucknow has always been a multicultural city that developed as a North Indian cultural and artistic center and a force of Nawabs in the 18th and 19th centuries. It remains an important center of governance, administration, education, commerce, aerospace, finance, pharmaceuticals, technology, design, culture, tourism, music and poetry. The city is located at an elevation of about 123 meters (404 ft) above sea level. The Lucknow district covers an area of 2,528 square kilometers (976 sq mi). Surrounded by Barabanki in the east, Unnao in the west, Rae Bareli in the south and Sitapur and Hardoi in the north, Lucknow is situated on the north-western bank of the Gomti River.
National Mercantile Co-operative Bank Limited, Lucknow was promoted and established by the late Shri Brahma Dev Sahai, who was the first Chairman of the Bank & Shri Durga Shankar was the first Vice President of the Bank and Shri Chandra Nath Tandon was the Honorary Secretary of the Bank. The Chief promoter of the bank was Shri Prakash Sahai (former secretary), and the most promising secretary of the bank was Shri PK Singh, his tenure was very wonderful. Among the directors of the bank, Shri P. D. Srivastava, Mrs. Dr. Hochin, Shri. N.S. Mathur, Shri Amrish Bali and Shri Pawan Goyal etc. were followed by Shri GD Rastogi Secretary of the Bank, he served as the secretary for the longest term in the bank. Presently the Bank's Secretary / General Manager is Shri AN Mishra, who has been working as Secretary since 2017.
The bank obtained a banking license from the Reserve Bank of India in the year 1987 and thereafter started growing at a rapid pace, catering to all the financial needs of its members / customers by providing prompt service. The bank opened its first branch at Latuch Road Lucknow (Head Office) in August 1979 in Lucknow. The bank has always strived to improve customer service by following the RBI guidelines.
The Branch are connected with CBS, NEFT/RTGS facility provided by the Bank is highly successful. The NPA of the Bank is also a very low. The Bank is famous for over all working image of the Bank such as good services and transparency in the working and the Bank is always ready to help his customer.
